CHILE WIN THEIR FIRST EVER COPA AMERICA TITLE

July 4, 2015

After 99 years of trying, Chile have finally become Copa America champions.

In front of a raucous home crowd, Chile defeated Argentina 4-1 in penalty kicks after 120 minutes of eventful but scoreless football to take the title of the 2015 Copa America football tournament.

But Chile almost lost it on the final kick of the ball in regulation.

That is when Lionel Messi started a four on three break toward goal for Argentina, with the best chance for goal of the game going just wide from point blank range and into the side netting.

Chile were perfect in their spot kicks, while Argentina missed two out of their three attempts.
